Need to learn new skills?

WorkWise! can help you find the training and education you need to get the job you really want.

WorkWise Kauai partners offer a wide variety of training programs intended to help people find new jobs, better jobs, or improve at their current job. The first step is to determine which program you may be eligible for.

The training programs in the WorkWise Kauai network have been developed to help people get to work, get back to work, or get better work. These programs serve adults, youth, dislocated or laid off workers and senior citizens. We have programs for adults 18 years and older who are considered low income, immigrants who are eligible to work in the US, Veterans, workers 55 years and older, people who have lost their jobs due to closure or lay-off, and youth age 14-21.

There are three main types of training, depending on the program:
  • Classroom Training
These may include short term certifications such as Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), clerical training, entrepreneurship, captain's license, CDL, scuba instruction and medical receptionists.
  • On-The-Job-Training
This may be with your current employer or a new employer.
  • Work Experience
These programs, similar to paid internships, are designed to help people acquire the initial experience they need to find work in their field.

Our programs can assist with career counseling, pay for training classes, help with on-the-job-training contracts, and in many cases pay for other costs such as books, tools, uniforms/clothing and reimbursement for mileage and meals while attending classes or meeting with a counselor. They are comprehensive programs, which will help you well after you have found employment.

While not everyone is eligible, we encourage anyone to come see a variety of opportunities become available every month. To find out more about which programs you may be eligible for visit or contact us at the WorkWise Kauai One-Stop Job Center.
